Mark 7:14–23 – WHAT’S INSIDE COMES OUT!

Three containers on card table. An air freshener, a soda, and a shoebox.

Spray air freshener. – What’s Inside Comes Out!

Open and taste soda. – What’s Inside Comes Out!

Open shoebox – Pull out soap and washcloth, crayons, a notebook, and a toy. What’s Inside Comes Out. Even though the box says “shoes” – What’s Inside Comes Out! (You may put whatever you want in the shoe box.)

The conservative religious party of Jesus’ day, the Pharisees, were more concerned with outward appearance than inward reality.

In the beginning of Mark 7:1-5, his disciples are taken to task because they did not follow a very detailed procedure of washing one’s hands before eating.

After giving a scathing evaluation of the hypocrisy of the Pharisees in Mark 7:6-13, Jesus makes a very important announcement, one we need to understand and heed.

Read Verses 14-15 – Jesus is saying “What’s Inside Comes Out”. A man’s inner spiritual condition may look good on the inside, but it will eventually show itself for what it is!
