WHAT TO KNOW!
As Christians there certain things that we should with the certainty of faith.
KNOW THE REALITY OF GOD’S EXISTENCE
Deuteronomy 4:39 – Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
KNOW THE RELIABILITY OF GOD’S WORD
2 Peter 1:20–21 – knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
KNOW THE REALITY OF SIN
Romans 7:18–20 – For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
KNOW THE REALITY OF CHRIST’S PAYMENT FOR YOUR SIN
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 – For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
KNOW THE REALITY OF ETERNAL LIFE
1 John 5:11–13 – And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…
KNOW THE REALITY OF RESURRECTION
Job 19:25–27 – For I know that my redeemer liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me.
KNOW THE REALITY OF FELLOWSHIP WITH JESUS
Philippians 3:10 – that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
KNOW THE REALITY OF FREEDOM
Romans 6:6–7 – We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin.
