Matthew 24:5-14 – WELCOME TO THE TRIBULATION!
Daniel the Prophet talked of 70 weeks in Daniel 9:24-27
These weeks were weeks of years.
69 weeks from the signing of the law to rebuild the temple (Nehemiah 2), the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, was cut off (crucified).
There is another week of years, yet to be fulfilled.
We know this period as The Tribulation.
The anti-Christ will sign a covenant with Israel for the first 3 1/2 years.
Then, after 3 1/2 years the he will break that covenant (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15).
In our text I believe that the Lord Jesus is telling us what it will be like during the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation.
