Luke 24:13-32 – THREE FOR EMMAUS
A COMPASSIONATE QUESTION – Vss. 13-17
Jesus wanted to know why the two on the road to Emmaus were sad.
He cared about His followers. He still does.
A CONFUSED ADMISSION – Vss. 18-24
The two had thought that Jesus was the one who would redeem Israel. Now He was dead. They did not understand true redemption that Jesus secured on the cross.
They were also confused about the reports of an open sepulchre and the appearance of angels.
A COMPLETE EXPLANATION – Vss. 25-27
Jesus explained the events of his suffering and resurrection according to the Old Testament Scriptures.
A CLEAR REVELATION – Vss. 28-32
Jesus made it clear that He had indeed risen from the dead.
