Matthew 22:1-14 – THE WEDDING
This parable tells of the great wedding feast.
God will hold the “Marriage Supper of Lamb in Heaven”. Revelation 19:7,9
We are told in this parable of three groups of guests.
THE ONES THAT WON’T COME – Vss. 1-7
They are invited. Vss. 2-3
They make excuse. Vss. 4-5
Some persecute the messengers. Vs. 6
They will be judged. Vs. 7
THE ONES THAT WILL COME – Vss. 8-10
The King commanded that all be invited to the wedding.
The offer of free salvation is to be presented to the whole world and “whosoever will may come”. Mark 16:15, Revelation 22:17
THE ONES THAT WRONGFULLY COME – Vss. 11-14
There are those who want to come to Heaven but insist on coming in their own righteousness.
They try to earn their way to Heaven.
This won’t work. Salvation is “by grace through faith”. Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5
