EXODUS 21:1-6 – THE BONDSERVANT
The Hebrew Bondservant was to be set free after six years unless he voluntarily chose to stay.
The parallel to this in the New Testament is being a bond-slave to Christ. Philippians 1:1, Titus 1:1, James 1:1, 2 Peter 1:1
The bondservant:
- Loves His Master – Vs.5
- Volunteers for Service – Vs. 5
- Makes a public statement – Vs. 6 (Before the Judges and with the ring in his ear)
- Serves Forever – Vs. 6
