Judges 5:1-31 – SOME PEOPLE
There are diverse types of people involved in the service of the Lord.
Some are willing to fight for the Lord, others are not.
Judges 5 is a poem, a song of praise to God for the victory He gave over Sisera and his army, as recorded in Judges 4.
Here we find different types of people. Some were involved in the victory, some were not.
SOME PEOPLE RISE TO THE OCCASION – Vss. 6-7
There was a problem. The enemy was intimidating Israel until Deborah rose up to take a stand.
SOME PEOPLE CHOOSE OTHER GODS AND PAY THE CONSEQUENCES – Vs. 8
Israel, in general was living in apostasy.
When we place other gods, other than the true God in control of our lives, there will be trouble for us too.
SOME PEOPLE GIVE OF THEMSELVES WILLINGLY – Vss. 9-15, 18
SOME PEOPLE REFUSE TO GET INVOLVED – Vss. 15-17, 23
Reuben – All talk, no action – Vss. 15-16
Gilead – No fellowship, no involvement – Vs. 17
Dan and Asher – Business as usual – Vs. 17
Meroz – Didn’t help the Lord – Vs. 23
SOME PEOPLE SHOW REMARKABLE COURAGE Vss. 24-31
