Psalm 56 – SENSING DANGER

Like so many of us, David was sensing or feeling the danger he was in. This time it was probably when he fled from King Saul to the land of the enemy Philistines (1 Samuel 21:10-1 Samuel 22:1:1) This is David’s Psalm, as he sensed danger. This Psalm may be prayed by us when we sense danger.

APPEAL – Psalm 56:1-2 – David cried for help as he sensed the danger that surrounded him.

ASSURANCE – Psalm 56:3-4 – As David trusted and praised God’s word his fears would subside.

ATTACK – Psalm 56:5-7 – David described the very real attacks of the enemy.

AFFIRMATION – Psalm 56:8-9, Psalm 56:13 – David affirmed his trust in God.

  • God Knows – Psalm 56:8
  • God Is for Me – Psalm 56:9
  • God Has Delivered Me – Psalm 56:13

ACCLAMATION – Psalm 56:10-12 – David confirmed his faith in worship.

  • He Praised – Psalm 56:10
  • He Trusted – Psalm 56:11
  • He Paid – Psalm 56:12 – He kept his promises (vows) out of gratitude.
