LUKE 2:25-38, MATTHEW 2:1-12 – SATISFIED WITH CHRISTMAS

The classic example of someone who was dissatisfied with Christmas was Ebenezer Scrooge!

Perhaps this Christmas, or another Christmas, you have been dissatisfied with Christmas because:

  • You were so busy making Christmas for everyone else, you were too busy to enjoy the holiday.
  • You feel left out by family.
  • Someone you love is not here anymore to celebrate it with you.
  • You’re too busy worrying to enjoy anything.
  • You have a case of the “Poor mees!”, or “Woe is mee’s!”
  • You’ve forgotten the real meaning of Christmas.

This Christmas morning, we have already met three people who were very satisfied with Christmas. Not one of them was there at the stable where Jesus was born, but all three met Jesus as an infant or a small child.

Simeon Was Satisfied Perceiving – Luke 2:25-35

  • Perceive Christ as your Savior.
  • Perceive Christ as the one who is either a stumbling block or a Steppingstone

Anna Was Satisfied Praising and Proclaiming – Luke 2:36-38

  • Praise God for the arrival of your Savior and King.
  • Proclaim Jesus as Savior and Lord to others.

The Wise Men Were Satisfied Presenting – Matthew 2:1-12

  • Gold – Royalty – My gift of obedience
  • Incense – Deity – My gift of worship
  • Myrrh – Humanity – My gift of a sacrificial life

Are you satisfied this Christmas?
