OUT OF THE DOLDRUMS – 2 Chronicles 29:1-30

We all get the “blahs” sometime.

We don’t feel like doing anything or associating with anybody.

It is possible for us to get the Spiritual “blahs” or to be have the Spiritual Doldrums.

Judah was in this state because of King Ahaz. 2 Chronicles 28:19-25

Hezekiah succeeded his father, Ahaz, to the throne. He got Judah out of the Spiritual doldrums. Based on what Hezekiah did, here’s how we can get out of the Spiritual doldrums ourselves.

REOPEN THE TEMPLE Vs. 3

The temple today is our lives. 2 Corinthians 6:19-20

If we closed the temple through lack of love (Revelation 2:1-5) for

the Lord, or sin, reopen it, and make sure that Jesus is on the throne.

REALIZE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN Vss. 6-10

Proverbs 3:11-12

REMOVE WHAT IS OFFENSIVE TO GOD Vss. 5, 15-17

Proverbs 6:16-19, Colossians 3:5-9, 1 John 1:9

REPLACE THE OFFENSIVE WITH THE POSITIVE Vss. 18-19

The Word of God – Colossians 3:16

The Spirit of God – Ephesians 5:18-21

The Fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22-23

REDEDICATE YOURSELF TO CHRIST Vss. 20-23

Romans 12:1

RETURN TO PRAISE Vss. 24-30

Praise is the last to come, and is a good sign you are out of the doldrums.
