LUKE 6:36-42 – MERCIFUL ME!
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
We know that we, as Christians, are to be merciful as our Heavenly Father is merciful! Based on Verses 37-42, we ask ourselves the following questions. If we can honestly answer these questions with a “Yes!”, we are probably merciful like our Heavenly Father.
AM I GRACIOUS? – Vs. 37
If I do not judge or condemn, but do forgive, I will be forgiven. When we show grace we receive grace from our Heavenly Father.
AM I GENEROUS? – Vs. 38
The more generous I am towards others the more generous God is with us. We do not “give to get”, but God does bless generous givers. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Proverbs 19:17
AM I GUIDED? – Vss. 39-40
The more I imitate my Master, or Teacher Jesus Christ, the more I will be able to guide others.
AM I GENUINE? – Vss. 41-42
If I have examined myself and corrected my own errors, it is easier for me to evaluate what needs to be corrected in others. Many times, when we examine ourselves first, we discover that the other person needs no correction. Galatians 6:1
