A NOTE FROM PASTOR JACK:

Earlier this year I wrote these outlines while having my devotions. I see Mark 5 as the Chapter of Desperation and Deliverance. You could develop this into one very large sermon, or better yet, a Bible Study. Perhaps the best approach is to present three sermons in a series.

MARK 5 – THE CHAPTER OF DESPERATION AND DELIVERANCE!

Mark 5:1-20 – THE DEMON-POSSESSED MAN OF GADARA

He was:

HOPELESS AND HELPLESS – Vss. 1-5

HARRASSED AND HINDERED – Vss. 6-10

HELPED AND HEALED – Vss. 11-15

HOPEFUL AND HELPFUL – Vss. 16-20 – Instead of going with Jesus, he was sent back home as a helpful witness.

Mark 5:21-43 – JAIRUS

He was DESPERATE – Vss. 21-24

He was DELAYED – Vss. 25-34

He was DEVASTATED – Vss. 35-36

He was DELIGHTED – Vss. 37-43

Mark 5:25-34 – THE INFIRMED WOMAN

She was ALONE in her misery. – Vss. 25-26

She became AWARE of Jesus – Vs. 27

She took ACTION by faith. – Vss. 27-29

She had to ACKNOWLEDGE Christ’s healing. – Vss. 30-33

She was ASSURED of her healing. – Vs. 34
