TEXT – Old Testament Scriptures
The Old Testament Prophets anticipated the birth of our Lord Jesus. Here are three of their prophecies:
THE VIRGIN – Isaiah 7:14
The virgin, of course, was Mary.
The birth was of “Emmanuel”, “God is with us”.
THE VISIT – Micah 5:2
The visit is to Bethlehem.
The visitor is the one that will be ruler in Israel. (Isaiah 11:1-10)
The visitor is eternal.
THE VICTORY – Isaiah 9:6
“The government shall be upon his shoulders.”
He is:
“Wonderful”
“Counselor”
“Mighty God”
“Everlasting Father
“Prince of Peace”
