Leviticus 19:1-4 – HOLINESS ANYONE?

Leviticus 19:1-4 – And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

We are not able to live Holy lives apart from cleansing from the “Holy One”, our Lord Jesus Christ. To be holy is not to be sinless, but to be “set apart” for God. After salvation, the Holy Spirit works within us to live a life set apart for Christ.

THE REQUIREMENT OF HOLINESS – …Ye shall be holy:

THE REASON FOR HOLINESS – … for I the LORD your God am holy.

THE RESPECT OF HOLINESS – Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father…

THE REVERENCE OF HOLINESS – …and keep my sabbaths:

THE RESTRICTION OF HOLINESS – Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
