Psalm 139 – GOD KNOWS
As a church family and as individuals, we need to know how God’s infinite knowledge of us applies to us. Psalm 139 helps us grasp this.
God Knows Who We Are – Psalm 139:1-6
- God’s knows who I am like no one else does!
- God knows our inner being, “the real us”, better than any human being.
- People worship many things, the true God is the only God who only interacts with us in a positive way!
God Knows Where We Are – Psalm 139:7-12
- 10 – Psalm 32:8
God Knows What and Why We Are – Psalm 139:13-18
- 13 – Covered means “Woven together”
- 15 – “skillfully wrought” is “embroidered” in Exodus. (Wiersbe)
- 17-18 – Shows us how important we are to God.
God Knows How We Should Be – Psalm 139:19-24
- 19-22 – God wants us to avoid influences that are contrary to his holiness.
- 19 – MacLaren – “His indignation has no taint of personal feeling but is pure zeal for God’s honor.”
- 21-22 – Radical yes, but again, God’s honor is at stake. Psalm 101:3
- 23-24 – Self-examination. First, salvation, and then personal holiness.
