PSALM 107:1-9 – BEHAVIOR OF THE REDEEMED
Redeemed people, those who acknowledge that they are hopeless sinners (Romans 3:10-12), believe the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), trusting Jesus Christ alone for eternal life (Romans 10:9-10) are the redeemed. The moment a person is “born again” (John 3:1-8) the Holy Spirit transforms us, indwells us (1 Corinthians 12:13), and transforms us (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are not sinless (1 John 1:8-10), but our behavior will begin to change. The more we allow God to transform us, the more we will behave like Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Psalm 107:1-9 show some the ways the redeemed are to behave.
THE REDEEMED ARE TO PRAISE. – Psalm 107:1, Philippians 4:4
THE REDEEMED ARE TO WITNESS. – Psalm 107:2, Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, 1 Peter 3:15
THE REDEEMED ARE TO REMEMBER AND BE GRATEFUL. – Psalm 107:3-8 – We should remember what we were like in our unsaved condition and that Christ has redeemed us. We should always remember and be grateful. Paul is a great example of this. 1 Timothy 1:12-17
THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD ARE TO BE SATISFIED. – Psalm 107:9, 1 John 3:1-3, Hebrews 13:5-6
