ARE YOU AN EMP?

(EFFECTIVE MISSIONS PERSON)

You probably know what an EMT is. Just in case you don’t know, here is a definition from the Meriam Webster Dictionary.

An EMT is an abbreviation for Emergency Medical Technician. “It refers to a specially trained medical technician who is certified to provide basic emergency services such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before and during transportation to a hospital 12EMTs are often the first responders to arrive at the scene of an accident or medical emergency 3They are trained in basic medical knowledge and skills to provide immediate medical care to patients in an emergency 3.

So, are you an EMT? Probably, you are not.

Let me ask you a far more important question. Are you an EMP? This is a term I made up. It stands for Effective Missions Person? As we begin our week of prayer for and month of giving to World Missions, how effective are you concerning all missions whether they be local, regional or worldwide?

You may be thinking, “Missions is just for people called to be missionaries.” Jesu never said that! Matthew 18:18-20 and Mark 16:15, Missions is the responsibility of everyone of His followers. We need a holistic approach to missions.

Let’s examine what takes to be an Effective Missions Person, an EMP.

  • Pray for Opportunity – Colossians 4:2-4
