Matthew 23:1-12 – AM I A PHARISEE?
In case you’ve ever been concerned that you might be a Pharisee (a hypocrite), here are some of the marks or characteristics of a Pharisee.
THE PHARISEE’S METHOD – Vss. 1-4 – He preaches, but doesn’t practice it.
THE PHARISEE’S MOTIVE – Vss. 5-7 – He wants glory and prominence for himself.
THE PHARISEE’S MISTAKE – Vss. 8-10 – He desires to control others.
THE PHARISEE’S MAKEOVER (CONVERSION or CHANGE) – Vss. 11-12 – He must humble himself and become a servant. Consider the Apostle Paul. Acts 9:1-30
