GETTING ONE’S SHARE
(The word “portion” in Scripture)

· The Lord cares that you get your share. How do we know this?
The word “portion” refers to an allotment or a share. The word appears several times in Scripture and shows how various people get their share.
Deuteronomy 32:9 - For the Lord's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
Psalm 23:1, Psalm 100:3, John 10:27-28, Galatians 3:26
2 Kings 2:9 - And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
