Numbers 12

"BE CAREFUL LITTLE LIPS WHAT YOU SAY"

"Be careful little lips what you say. Be Careful little lips what you say.

There's a Father up above and He's looking down in love.

Be careful little lips what you say."

I hope I'm not breaking someone's copyright by quoting this children's song, but the song makes a point.  James 3 warns about the sins of the tongue, as do other passages.  One of the sins of the tongue which is prevalent today is the using it to be critical of God's servants.  We must remember that each person who is saved is a child of God.  Therefore, we must be careful what we say about them (1 Corinthians 4:1-5).  Aaron and Miriam discovered this truth the hard way.

1. ATTACKS ON GOD'S SERVANTS ARE NOT ALWAYS

    JUSTIFIED. Vss. 1-3

2. ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY GOD TO DEFEND HIS

    SERVANTS. Vss. 4-10  (Romans 12:19)

3. ADMISSION OF GUILT DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN A STAY

OF DISCIPLINE Vss. 11-16 (Even though there was confession of

sin here, God still chose to discipline.  He did the same with David, who

was disciplined after his confession of sin with Bathsheba.)
