Hebrews 13:18-25

Name a great conclusion to a Bible Story.

What is the purpose of a conclusion to a story or book?

What will a good conclusion do?

We have finally reached the conclusion of the Book of Hebrews. In Hebrews 13:18-25, we have the concluding words. I believe that there are some practical tips from the writer of Hebrews as he wraps up his book.

Should we pray for everybody? Why?

1 Timothy 2:1-4 - I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Should we pray the requests that everyone asks us to pray?

What made the author of Hebrews request a worthy request? What was that request?

Of what value are a good conscience and a willingness to live honestly?

The author was probably a leader in the church. Why do pastors need more prayer?

How should you pray for pastors?

BE BLESSED Vss. 20-21, 25

V     Vs. 20 - Why is it a comfort to you that God is a God of peace?

V     How did God prove that He is a God of peace?

V     Of what significance is the resurrection of Christ?

V     In what ways is Jesus the good shepherd?

John 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John 10:14 - I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:27-28 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

V     In what way(s) is Jesus the great shepherd?

V     What is the everlasting covenant? Of what significance is the blood?

V     Vs. 21 To make us perfect means to equip us, or to mend us so we are useful.

V     What will God equip us to do? Why is that so important?

V     How does God equip us to do his will?

Ephes. 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

V     What is our responsibility in this process? See Hebrews 4:14-15 and 12:1-2

V     Vs. 25 How is this verse a fitting conclusion to this epistle?
